The ski backpack for any situation

Versatile, technical and comfortable ski touring backpack for demanding tours

Highlights

  • optimum fit and load distribution
  • scuff and water-resistant
  • spacious and well designed

The HAUTE ROUTE has been around almost since the birth of ski touring. Our enduring classic is perfect for longer ski excursions.

Cordura®, PFC-free double-layered Polyamide 420D Oxford and PU coating on all fabrics make our HAUTE ROUTE 32 extremely scuff and water resistant. This backpack fits perfectly thanks to its load control cords and ergonomically shaped O-Flex-2 back system with S-shaped stabilizer, which distributes weight evenly between the hips and the shoulders, even over lengthy periods. The hip fins connect inside the back system so that they wrap comfortably and seamlessly around the body.

With its larger capacity, the HAUTE ROUTE 32 has space for all you may need. The spacious main compartment is accessible from the top and back, which means all backpack contents will be easily accessible, while a separate safety compartment provides rapid access to emergency equipment. Thanks to the rope attachment on the lid, you can pack and unpack your rope without having to open the backpack. In addition to the crampon fastening, ice axe and hiking pole fastening and fixed helmet net, there are also fasteners for a snowboard, for example. Skis can be fastened using either the classic or diagonal method.

No matter how long and challenging the tour, the HAUTE ROUTE 32 will equip you well for any multi-day tour.

Ski touring
This backpack is excellent in all its aspects, although it is for ski touring, its exterior attachments allow it great versatility (3 clip straps and 2 Velcro rings are provided with the bag when you receive it) . I used it in mountaineering on rock and ice. The only downside is that the waist strap overlaps the harness, complicating access to quickdraws, jammers, ice screws, etc. an adjustable belly strap like the one on the torso would really be a big plus.

Bonjour Monsieur Voineau ! Hello Mr. Voineau! Thank you for your constructive criticism regarding our Haute Route 32. As the backpack was designed primarily for ski touring, it is currently not possible to move the belt. However, I will forward your comment to our production department. Here are two alternative solutions: 1. You could open the belt during climbing passages and close it behind your back in order to have easier access to the equipment while climbing. 2. There are so-called equipment carriers/carritools for climbing equipment. They allow you to gain freedom of movement. I hope my answer was useful to you. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at shop@ortovox.com.
