SWISSWOOL ON HIGH ALPINE TOURS
COMFORT OF THE HIGHEST LEVEL
Nature is a constant source of inspiration for us. In 2016, we took the revolutionary step of incorporating Swisswool into our back systems.
We are now going one step further with our completely revamped PEAK backpacks – with 360° Swisswool at all contact points for even more comfort on high alpine tours.
WHAT MAKES THE PEAK SO SPECIAL?
The Peak series is the first in the world to have 360° Swisswool at all contact points – the back, shoulder straps and hip belt are all made of Swisswool fleece.
The PEAK comes with highly technical features and a number of attachment options that are essential in rugged high-alpine terrain.
The PEAK is a highly technical backpack and received the ISPO Winner Award.
Swisswool fleece reliably absorbs moisture and dries quickly, making it comfortable – no matter whether it’s -5°C or 25°C.
Thanks to the Swisswool full contact back, cushioned shoulder straps and hip fins, the PEAK is extremely comfortable, even on long high alpine tours.
The PEAK series is 80% wool and particularly sustainable thanks to its use of natural and recycled materials.

A Q&A ON THE PEAK WITH THE ORTOVOX PRODUCT MANAGER
We’ve now integrated wool fleece not only into the back, as with the old PEAK, but also into the shoulder straps and hip fins. This means that wool is now used in all contact areas, making the backpack all the more comfortable.
Our Peak backpacks are fully equipped for all alpine tours, whether in summer or in winter. All of this is combined with excellent load control and comfort. It is the ONLY backpack an ambitious mountaineer needs.
Ortovox is a wool expert. Wool is a natural, highly functional product that has been protecting us for millennia. This functionality also means safety – especially in the mountains. And that’s exactly what the PEAK stands for. Increased comfort leads to increased safety.
Wool from Swiss mountain sheep provides an alternative to conventional insulation materials such as down or synthetic fibers. Swisswool products are manufactured entirely in Europe, which means they are all climate neutral. Since 2011, we have been using Swisswool in our summer and winter clothing, and by purchasing the wool we are supporting the livelihood of Swiss alpine farmers.
Around 135–145g of wool go into each backpack.
Guaranteeing the outstanding durability of the materials. And then still producing it all for a fair price.
We wanted to create a mountain backpack in a class of its own. With perfect comfort and functionality.
