Do you dream of exploring the breathtaking world of the mountains off the beaten track? Then our SAFETY ACADEMY basic course – MOUNTAINEERING Basic – is the perfect opportunity. The aim of the course is to introduce you to the fundamental climbing techniques and forms of movement that you need for your alpine adventures. Starting with an understanding of alpine dangers, you will learn to recognize possible risks early on and respond to them effectively. We place particular emphasis on the selection and safe use of your equipment, including Important rope techniques that will support you in a variety of situations.

We work on your sure-footedness in difficult terrain so that you can move independently in the mountains. Walking and scrambling in pathless terrain, as well as walking on snowfields, are further focuses of our training. You will gain insights into the basics of multipitch climbing and learn how to tackle simple climbing routes with mountain boots. After that, you will be capable of carrying out alpine climbs independently. Our SAFETY ACADEMY training courses offer the ideal conditions so that you can achieve your alpine goal independently and with the greatest possible margin of safety.

DETAILS MOUNTAINEERING BASIC

Content includes ascending and descending pathless terrain, elementary climbing techniques, walking on paths secured with wire rope, braking falls in firn, tour planning, material science, knot techniques and nature conservation.

Risk assessment of alpine hazards

Using an ice axe, for both walking and self-arrest

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Basic knowledge of wilderness travel
Good balance in uneven terrain
Good fitness for approaches and tours
Knowledge of knotting techniques is an advantage, but not necessary
