PROTECTING WHAT WE LOVE
As mountain athletes, we aren’t lacking in goals. There are too many beautiful summits, ridges, slopes and rock faces waiting to be explored and climbed. But now is the time to set our goals even higher, because the alpine landscape is particularly sensitive to climate change.
To protect what we love, ORTOVOX is presenting the PROTACT ACADEMY LAB: An interactive learning platform for responsible mountain sport. In four chapters, tips and tricks, tools and tutorials, inspiration and information illustrate how we can make a difference, and the most efficient way to do so. We as a brand, we as individuals, we as a community.
PROTACT ACADEMY – BACKGROUND
Since the company was founded in 1980, ORTOVOX has dedicated itself to protection – the protection of mountain athletes and the protection of the alpine world.
ORTOVOX sees it as its responsibility not only to develop innovative products, but also to protect mountain athletes through education and by sharing knowledge. The PROTACT ACADEMY is part of our contribution toward conserving our alpine world.
SHORT SUMMARY OF THE CHAPTERS
TRAVEL
The mountains are our retreat, a source of energy and strength. But by simply travelling to the mountains, we leave behind a burdensome trail. In the first chapter of the ProtACT LAB, you’ll find tips, tricks and tools for a more responsible journey to the mountain.
MINDFUL IN THE MOUNTAINS
The second chapter covers practicing considerate behavior, a conscious awareness of the mountains and how we can protect what we love through responsible action. Here, you’ll learn more about the alpine habitat, about plants, animals and water.
CONSIDERATE CONSUMPTION
By handling our resources more responsibly and being considerate consumers, we mountain athletes can make a real difference. In this chapter you’ll learn more about conscientious consuming, loaning, sharing and choosing products wisely.
CARE & REPAIR
Apart from choosing the right product, there are other factors that determine how long your item will last. Conducting maintenance and extending an item’s useful life through repairs are also important. The tutorials and information in this chapter show you the proper way to care for your products and how you can repair them yourself.
